20 Nov Quantum Questions Exhibition
Between November 24 and December 12 we organize the second edition of the Quantum Questions science festival, within the Quantum project. This year, due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival is presenting a a pop-up exhibition named EFECT – Quantum Questions, displayed in the street windows of the former Continental Hotel in Cluj-Napoca and the Demmers Teehaus across the street.
Now, more than ever, it is important to question our way of living, how what we consume affects us, and how the irresponsible way we use natural resources can affect our future.
Starting from these introspections, 12 international artists who work at the intersection of art, science, theory and experiment were invited to present works that propose answers to the following two essential questions: What are the long-term consequences of our current action or inaction and how can we act towards the desired effects?
“Whether we are talking about biology or our health, community, culture or the environment, we cannot say exactly what the future will look like or how we will perceive it in 20 years. It all comes down to the choices we make today. Therefore, we must choose wisely, and the exhibitions in this Quantum Questions festival edition aim to help us do that”, says Miruna Amza, Quantum project manager.
The EFECT – Quantum Questions exhibition proposes a journey FROM MICRO TO MACRO via the two themes it addresses: the human microbiome and collective macro-sustainability.
The Quantum Questions Festival promotes science to the general public, proposing new formats of involvement and encouraging STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) in Cluj-Napoca and around. All details can be found on www.quantum-cluj.ro.
The Quantum Question science festival is presented in the framework of STUDIOTOPIA and co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union.
